Green opportunities
Join us in our mission to create greener streets with our local communities.
Your dedication and passion as a volunteer can make a world of difference. Together, we can cultivate a more sustainable and beautiful environment for everyone to enjoy.
Area Representative
As an area representative, you'll be at the forefront of connecting with residents and encouraging the planting of street trees. Your work strengthens the sense of community and pride in our neighbourhood.
Tree Care Team Member
Join our tree care team to acquire invaluable knowledge about pruning, disease control, and the art of nurturing healthy trees. We run regular tree care sessions around Lewisham, usually on weekdays with occasional weekend sessions.
Tree Auditor
Visit and inspect trees as part of our regular audits. These important checks help to keep us apprised of the progress of our trees and alert us to any potential problems.
Tree Guardian
Water and keep an eye on individual street trees funded by Street Reps or Sponsors. If you would like to water a tree but there are none nearby, STfL may be able to find a tree for you, but your best bet may be to become a Street Rep or a Sponsor yourself!
Operations Team
Many of our core operations are actually supported by volunteers. If you feel you have expertise to offer us then get in touch. Examples of current volunteer roles are data systems, social media, finance, and project management.
Trustees
Trustees manage the long-term aims of the campaign and nurture the charity’s relationship with the council and other public bodies. Trustee applicants with relevant knowledge or skills are especially welcome, e.g. lobbying, marketing, arboricultural knowledge, charity or employment law, bid-writing and accountancy skills.
